At well over five years old, the Pumps & Equipment website had unfortunately become fairly dated, both in terms of design and functionality. The website didn’t reflect the core aspects and achievements of the business over the past 40+ years, and it was time for a change.
With Formation and Pumps & Equipment’s working relationship stretching back for 30 years, we were in a fantastic position to offer tailored, knowledgeable advice on what needed to change.
Pumps and Equipment (Warwick) Ltd. has developed a reputation for fantastic service, high-quality products and unrivalled expertise. Our challenge was to develop the brand so that it reflected this, portraying a level of professionalism.
We redesigned the company logo, modernising it to feature a coolant pump impeller – appealing to P&E’s key target market. A clear, simple typeface and bold, clean colourways were selected that carried through from the old version, retaining elements of the brand identity, laying foundations for the wider website design.
The website was redesigned to reflect and compliment the new, modernised brand image including a refreshed user experience including website and product structure, mobile responsiveness, SEO benefits, a more professional reflection of a UK leading supplier and video integration.
Products have been logically categorised by product type and manufacturer, as well as being filterable so that users can narrow their choice within large ranges.
Other key information is also given prominence in the top navigation bar, as well as an easy access inner page menu, appearing on the left hand side of pages. The website also features and intelligent search function, powered by keywords and tags, so that specific products or pages can be found in seconds.
The new website is built using WordPress and WooCommerce, which provide a fluid, easy to use Content Management System combined with powerful, effective eCommerce capabilities. Users can navigate the website without difficulty, finding their desired product or service. Once there, users can access detailed descriptions, technical datasheets and easily submit enquiries.
As well as individual products, Pumps & Equipment offer a number of Turnkey Systems that can be implemented in a wide range of application areas. Information about how Pumps & Equipment solutions can be used in certain environments, such as Food Processing and Machine Tool Coolant, as well as recommended products, can easily be found on the website.
The level of information present also benefits the site from an SEO perspective, giving a strong presence on Google and allowing more potential customers to find Pumps & Equipment online.
Our old website has done us proud for many years, but we decided it was time for a refresh and to update our company branding. One of the main factors that have prompted this decision was that our old website did not show properly on mobile phones and tablets. This was having a negative impact on our google searches and consequently our website visitor rates. Formation has been a trusted supplier of ours for over a decade and they were the natural choice to complete the works as they have great knowledge of our business and the engineering sector. The opportunity was taken also to update our logo and branding and we are extremely happy with the results. We have already noticed an increase in enquiries and are confident this will grow further in time. We feel the website is now a true knowledge base to the engineering sector, for all things associated with high pressure and coolant pumps and associated accessories.
