The Engineering Technology Group was well-established as a leader in the provision of high-grade CNC machinery and tooling to some of the manufacturing and metalworking sector’s biggest names. However, they were struggling to define their digital presence and to make use of all that Industry 4.0 has to offer.
With the in-house development of bespoke software, Formation has revolutionised ETG’s quoting process, converting six weeks’ work into just fifteen minutes’. Per month, this saves ETG’s sales department more than 460 work-hours, providing an incredible efficiency boost. In addition, the creation of a visually stunning and user-focused website is the foundation of ETG’s digital presence.
As well as a refreshed feel, Formation undertook an in-depth UX exercise in partnership with ETG to craft and drive a complete user experience. This was twinned with a refined version of the machine tool configurator, which now allowed for more efficient management of the configurator content by ETG staff, saving time and effort.
Formation were able to examine ETG’s sales and leads process. Taking a solutions-driven approach, Formation developed for ETG a Machine Tool Configurator. This allows potential customers to customise their own machine tool, using the software and send their exact requirements directly to the ETG sales team.
Having introduced transformational process and digitisation elements into the ETG business model, Formation were entrusted with marketing for the entire Engineering Technology Group. From this point on, we managed social media, copy, events and much more for the Group’s UK and Ireland-wide presence.
In 2019, the Engineering Technology Group purchased HK Technologies, a fellow company group encompassing everything from additive manufacturing to wire EDM. This includes brands such as Markforged and Mitsubishi Electrics. Following the purchase, Formation was engaged to undertake the unified marketing activities across the Group’s expanded reach. This involves the creation of new website content and the adoption of a collated, ongoing marketing stream.
As ETG reached a new height in their turnkey offering, it was time to introduce clients to this in its full. The decision was made to host an open house event, bringing prestigious representatives from the manufacturing community into ETG’s facility. Dubbed ‘Discover Turnkey Excellence’, the event was organised and marketedwith the help of Formation, with social media and copy support provided on the day. The event was a resounding success and a fantastic exercise in return on investment for ETG.
We are more than happy with Formation Media and the partnership we’ve created, I don’t think there is a service they offer that we don’t tap into now.
