Collaborating with the Commissioner: Welcome to the new, user-friendly website for the West Midlands Police & Crime Commissioner

I am incredibly proud to announce the launch of the new West Midlands Police & Crime Commissioner website, a project on which everyone within the Formation team has closely collaborated, working extremely hard to ensure the delivery of the best possible product.

Consisting of over 400 hours’ worth of collective studio time and project management, West Midlands’ new website delivers information surrounding the Commissioner’s work and community support services in a fresh, user-friendly format.

Our dedicated graphic design and web development team enlisted all their collective skills to produce bespoke design, animation and imagery for the fully optimised site, with continual UX testing conducted throughout to ensure that the website is highly accessible and easy to interact with for a diverse audience across the West Midlands.

The website boasts attributes such as an interactive map regarding knife bin locations, a quick escape function for specific pages, a secure online events calendar and an essential feature called ‘Browsealoud’ – a feature that enables those who are partially sighted to listen to rather than read the webpage text.

Project management was overseen by our dedicated Key Account Manager, Hattie Plackett, who liaised with the West Midlands PCC Media and Communications Manager, Tom Turrell, throughout to together create a carefully considered and comprehensive website.

The positive testimonial we received from Tom at the end of the project is a testament to Hattie and the studio’s hard work. “We’re all incredibly pleased at the West Midlands PCC office with our new website. Hattie managed the process extremely well from start to finish, taking out any stress from the project and delivering when she said she would.”

It was a genuine pleasure for Formation Media to work together with the Police & Crime Commissioner and his team. I would like to personally thank Tom for entrusting us with such an important project and for believing in our expertise.
